Maya & Monkey Minds on Overdrive

Maya (Sanskrit माया māyāa[›]), in Indian religions, has multiple meanings, centered on the concept of "illusion". Maya is the principal deity that manifests, perpetuates and governs the illusion and dream of duality in the phenomenal Universe. For some mystics, this manifestation is real.[1] Each person, each physical object, from the perspective of eternity, is like a brief, disturbed drop of water from an unbounded ocean. The goal of enlightenment is to understand this — more precisely, to experience this: to see intuitively that the distinction between the self and the Universe is a false dichotomy. The distinction between consciousness and physical matter, between mind and body (refer bodymind), is the result of an unenlightened perspective. (Taken from Wikipedia).
Divine Father: “I would like to address the nature & condition of the Human mind once it is immersed in Maya (or the illusions of worldly existence). When Humans incarnate on the earth plane, there is a force, called Maya, whose nature it is to create the idea Humans are separate from God, and separate from each other and from all other aspects of creation. Once a human feels that he is separate, he begins to experience the illusion of his own mind, and he begins to become very attached to his own thoughts. These thoughts, which are necessary to a certain extent, but like everything else, thoughts are only helpful if they are kept in a very disciplined balance, and used only when necessary for every day decision making and discernment. The mind, as it is Divinely Intended, is calm, satvic (full of Light & peace) and balanced. Its nature is even, balanced and relaxed, with very few thoughts. When the mind is in this natural, spiritual state, the person is calm, relaxed and able to perceive his own divinity, like watching the crisp blue, sunny sky on a cloudless day. Occasionally a few white, soft puffy clouds will float by and maybe even cast a shadow or two, but for the most part the mind is free of clouds when it functioning as it was divinely intended. When one’s thoughts are balanced and disciplined, it is natural to have a strong intuitive capacity, wherein the purified mind and the heart are working together in harmony. We are then able to function at our highest capacity, because we are able to harmonize the workings of the Higher mind, from which we perceive information from the higher realms of consciousness, with the workings of the logical mind, and it’s interactions on the earth plane. It is necessary for both aspects to the Human mind to be in balance in order to live in balance on the Earth Plane.
We are now in a period of time when the pull of Maya is intensifying. The shadows of illusion prevail as humanity is pulled between holding on to the illusions of the past, or releasing the grip of Maya so that they may evolve into the higher wisdom given to them through Divine Design. Look around you. What was once pure, pristine and balanced is now filled with massive pollution on every level, including Gaia herself, full of toxic chemicals, landfills full of toxic waste, and trash of every sort, all of man's own making. Even the oceans are full of chemicals, radioactive waste, trash and plastics, along with the buried toxic waste that leeches into the Earth herself. Man has subsisted on artificial food full of chemicals and pesticides, and his mind has cultivated an insidious, terrible habit for the ingestion of violence, lust, fear, depraved & evil thought forms coming from senseless violence and evil in movies, TV & literature, filling in emotional & spiritual voids with electronic devices, spending money on trash that has no use in bringing mankind to the goal of becoming Divine Beings! Instead, children are being brought up on the same vicious “Junk Food” for the mind & spirit that their parents have subsisted on. Then people have to work two jobs or more just to pay for these senseless & harmful cravings, desires & addictions! What does that do to humanity? This is one of the reasons why we are seeing more and more irrational, violent & abhorrent behavior in people. Children use violent video games and become so desensitized to the horrific displays of violence that they can no longer tell the difference between right and wrong. Drugs and guns are so common place that it is now normal in what used to be a civil society. We are so busy chasing our tails that we don't even know our neighbors anymore! Society is breaking down.
When allowed to sink to the level of Maya’s pull, the Human Mind can be compared to a Nascar Race. Our minds are racing non stop, round and round on a track that has become a deep groove, embedded in the mind after years and years of repeating the same mental grooves. The mind is not allowed to relax, always being bombarded with stimuli of every sort, and rapid chains of thoughts that never stop. The mind is in a constant state of being heated up, inflamed and reactive, going too fast and, like the car on the track, we are just going around in circles, and not getting anywhere. We could crash and burn, or blow a tire. If we’re lucky, we can see the wisdom of slowing down to a stop, and taking some time to reassess things. The danger of the speed at which our minds are going, can bring a deterioration of health & emotional and mental balance, causing us to crash and burn. Or, it could cause us to explode, causing harm not just to ourselves, but to others as well. Many people are beginning to see the wisdom of not getting caught up in that futile & endless cycle. That’s why yoga, meditation, stress reduction, and other such practices are becoming so popular now. People are beginning to see the horrible results of a mind that is overheated. Eventually the whole society becomes overheated, with drastic & deadly results; truly a world that is lost in its own illusions.
So why do we tread such a crazy path that is so destructive for ourselves? Is it because, like Nascar races, Maya is entertaining for us? We like the rush of the speed. The element of danger is exciting & addictive. Maya itself can be very addictive, and people incarnate here over and over again due to the cravings & unfulfilled desires our mind has for such a place. Maya was designed this way, to trick us into believing that all our sensory experience are real and so we must treat it as such. That is why the Teachings of the Spiritual Masters touch us so deeply. Masters & Saints are already centered in the Reality that is beyond Maya and only they can show us the path that will lead us home to that balance, peace and sweetness that dwells within us inherently. When we find that place within us; that place beyond the addictive pull of thoughts & desires, we find our true Selves, our “Sweet Spot” of inherent, eternal Truth, Awareness & Bliss. We all have it within us. It’s there for the taking if we have the interest, desire, and really want to work at it!
We must all go on a thought diet! Letting go of old, worn out beliefs, conditionings, thoughts & desires that have taken hold within us. As we do, we slowly let go of the inner tension that these habits have created within us. Spiritual practices such as chanting a mantra, meditating, prayer and yoga are all ways in which we can start to release Maya’s death grip on us, and clear a path to Home. Oh, and we don’t have to break a speed record to get there. It’s better to take a nice, slow walk!”
